During his stay in Ukraine, Alexandre Henry collected different artefacts carrying traces of the conflict. Here, the human takes the form of the object and testifies to what it may have suffered. On some of these entities, parts are missing. Destroyed by violence and hate. he aim was  to repair them, to remodel them, like those Ukrainian families who had to learn to rebuild themselves after having lost everything. By melting Russian missiles and shell casings, Alexandre created prostheses that will replace the missing parts of the objects. The same metal that was used to destroy them will now be used to rebuild them.

The two chairs, damaged by explosions and then repaired using melted missiles, are mounted on the wall. The object, transformed into a sculpture, takes on the aspect of a portrait that bears witness to the visible or silent scars of civilians enduring the war.

« Walls Remember » is an installation in which portraits of Ukrainians, printed on fragments of walls salvaged from rubble, are suspended on either side. Civilians who have lost their homes appear fossilized within these remnants, re- duced to fragile traces of existence. On the opposite side, windows are reconstructed with aluminum prostheses, cast from melted-down Russian missiles. Together, these elements form the silhouette of a house frame. It is no longer only the memory of destroyed houses that emerges, but also the echo of lives that collapsed alongside their walls.

After finding the boots of Russian soldiers in the trenches, Alexandre Henry decided to make with them a representation of the resistance and determination of the Ukrainian people in the face of foreign aggression. The Russian boots surrounded by barbed wire illustrate the challenges and difficulties faced by the Russian army in its attempts to conquer Ukraine.
